Classes

Classes
Children are organised in four classes according to their age and year group.  Currently classes are as follows:

Class 1 Reception
Class 2 Year 1 and Year 2
Class 3 Year 3 and Year 4
Class 4 Year 5 and Year 6

Therefore, each class has children of mixed ages and abilities, but each child is taught according to his or her stage of development.  This is achieved by varying the groupings within the class according to the activity and the needs of the children.

Groups
Children may be taught in the following ways:

• as a whole class
• in groups of mixed ability
• in groups of similar ability
• in friendship groups, or other groups determined by the children
• individually

School Times
8.55am – 12.00pm and 1.15pm – 3.15pm      (Classes 1 and 2)
8.55am – 12.15pm and 1.15pm – 3.15pm      (Classes 3 and 4)

Morning break
10.30am – 10.45am (Classes 1 and 2)
11.00am – 11.15am (Classes 3 and 4)

Afternoon break
2.30pm – 2.45pm (Classes 1 and 2 only)
