At St. Julian's school we teach French to years 3,4,5 and 6 and we believe that learning a language should be

  • Fun and accessible for all
  • Develop children’s communication skills in order to help them express what they want to say
  • Develop children’s wider perspective of the world

Children develop the four skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing in French through the use of songs, games, rhymes and role plays. Learning focuses on being active, lively and engaging.

At St Julian's we are lucky enough to be part of the Erasmus scheme which links 5 schools in Europe.  This year there are a group of Year 5 and 6 children going to France as part of the schools exchange programme.
