PTA at St Julian's Church School

The role of the PTA is to encourage closer links between home and school and to bring parents together socially in support of the school, working towards a common goal which is to enhance our children’s education experience and the school’s facilities.

St Julian’s School PTA is a registered charity run by a committee of parents and staff. Over the years, the PTA has fundraised thousands of pounds, which has which has been spent on equipment and resources not usually covered by the schools budget.

The committee meets once a term and all parents are invited to attend.

How we spend the money we raise

It is at our PTA Committee meetings that the decisions on how to spend the money are agreed.

The PTA funds are spent on the ‘extras’ that are not provided by the school’s budget. We always endeavour to spend our funds in ways that will benefit all our children across all areas of the school and curriculum.

Funds can be spent on large items such as the adventure playground, or more recently the new playground markings, or many things in-between such as trips and treats, coach travel and sports equipment.

You can have your say and get involved

We encourage all parents to have a say and get involved. Please!

Perhaps you have a special skill, which could be useful at school. Perhaps you like gardening for example, or are handy at DIY.

Perhaps you have some ideas for fundraising or would just like to help?

Parent Helpers

We always need parent helpers. If you think you might like to accompany a school trip or come in to help read with the children for example, please do let the office know so that the appropriate paperwork can be filed. This is a relatively straightforward exercise required by law.

What we need to raise money for

The school would like to re-vamp the library, to include new and exciting books appropriate for all age groups and abilities across the school.

The other big push this year is raising money to update the adventure playground.

Throughout the year, the PTA has given and will continue to give money towards classroom resources, class Christmas parties, costumes, etc.
