Poetry Slam

This week, 12 children from Beech Class represented St Julian’s at the MNSP Poetry Slam competition at the Dragonfly Theatre at Writhlington school. All of Beech Class worked together to write a year group poem on the topic of emotions. Year 3s compared emotions to animals and Y4s used personification to think about what emotions would do, inspired by the book ‘What Feelings Do When No One’s Looking’ by Tina Oziewicz. The performers were absolutely amazing; they spoke so confidently, performed actions and had worked hard to learn the poem by heart. Our Y3 team even came away with second place in a tough competition. What superstars! Well done to our Y3 team: Clara, Evelyn, Eleanor, Isla, Summer and Ted and our Y4 team: Anhelina, Daniel, Felix, Harrison, Senna and Thea.
