Book Donation

In March, Carol Britton from Midford Manor Care Home visited St Julian’s and donated £500 worth of Amazon vouchers to spend on books.

After much careful deliberation and surveying the classes, our Librarians put together a wishlist of books for each class. As the purchasing of these books fell near Christmas, the children decided to create a book advent calendar for each class made up of the books we purchased with the vouchers.

The librarians wrapped each book for the classes and requested some chocolate advert calendars be included too – to make sure everyone in each class got a treat!

The advent calendars were presented in our Celebration Assembly on 1st December and the first books were opened by Rufus, Beau, Isla-Mae and Myles who have all demonstrated themselves to be fantastic readers. The books will be stored in class libraries and read for pleasure by the children.

Thank you again to Midford Manor Care Home for their incredibly generous donation. We look forward to working with the care home in the future by hopefully arranging some visits soon.
