Whole School Wells Cathedral Trip

On Tuesday 28th November, the whole school went to Wells Cathedral for an R.E. trip. It was a very special school trip.

We first looked at amazing tapestries about the Creation story and the Fall. Then we sketched bits o artwork on to plain paper. We slipped the plain paper onto a clip board to make it easier.

Beech class and Sycamore class went to a workshop about Climate Justice after sketching. We learnt about climate change and how it affects different people on earth. For example: in Bangladesh farmers find it hard to survive in hot weather. With also did some role play about Climate Change.

Next we had a tour around the Cathedral. The tour guide only showed us his favourite parts because the Cathedral is so big we couldn’t visit everywhere! The first room was like an upside down boat, the second room was where the Cathedra was. Fun fact: if a church doesn’t have a Cathedra, it isn’t a Cathedral. Only Cathedrals have a Cathedra.

After lunch, we went on the Cathedral green and I played with my friends. Next we went back inside and did some felt modelling. First we grabbed a pom-pom, then we dipped it into some water and then rolled it in siap. After that we rolled it in blue fluff. Next we rolled it in soal again and put green fluff on to represent land. We made small felt worlds.
